Innovation
Over 40 years of operation Kawarau Jet has become known for innovation and the introduction of many safety features, some of which have become industry benchmarks. In 2000 the company began an overhaul and refit of its entire fleet.
Innovation is driven by the K-Jet race department headed by champion Jet boat driver and K-Jet partner Shaun Kelly.
1989/90 – Established first roll bar system now standard equipment in commercial Jet boats
1995 – Established innovative twin engine technology – now industry benchmark – that virtually eliminates any chance of power or steering failure and is 100% more reliable than single engined boats
2000/2001 – Modernising refit of all boats including new features such as fuel injected motors giving increased reliability and efficiency, fully padded passenger cockpits and heated, shock absorbing suspension handrails
Kawarau Jet Fleet Kawarau Jet fleet consists of eight boats, with a capacity of over 150 pax, all of which have been designed by K-Jet and built in by Mackraft Boats in Bluff. The boats are specifically designed for maximum performance, safety and passenger comfort.
